National Survey for Wales: Welsh language

The Census is the key source of information about the number of people who can speak Welsh. The National Survey for Wales also collects information about’ Welsh speaking ability of adults aged 16 or over. Survey estimates of the number of Welsh speakers are historically higher than those produced by the Census.
