Key Stage 1

2011 was the final year that data on Key Stage 1 results was available since the Foundation Phase replaced it and was fully implemented for the first time in academic year 2011/12. All learners in their final year of Key Stage 1 were required to be assessed through teacher assessments. The general expectation was that the majority of 7 year olds would attain level 2 in each subject.The National Curriculum subjects in Wales are split into two categories, core subjects and non-core subjects. For Key Stage 1, data is presented for the core subjects: English, Welsh first language, mathematics and science.
