Electoral register

The number of people who were registered on the electoral roll and are therefore entitled to vote in a particular area.

Since 2020 the eligibility criteria for Senedd and local government elections for Wales has changed, with the voting age lowered to 16. The information is collected by local electoral registration officers in Wales and then supplied to the Office for National Statistics (ONS). This information does not currently include all 16 year old electors and 15 year old attainers registered to vote in the Senedd and local government elections. We continue to work with the ONS to resolve this matter so that we can publish corrected statistics for Senedd and local government electors in Wales for the period 2020 to 2023. This means we are currently unable to update the electoral roll Statswales cubes.
