[Collapse]EligibilityA household is accepted as statutory homeless by a local authority if it is eligible, unintentionally homeless, and falls within a defined priority need category, such as households with dependent children. The Welsh Government introduced secondary legislation (starting from 1 March 2001) extending the priority need categories to include those aged 16 and 17. Therefore the category ‘eligible, homeless but not in priority need\’ is no longer applicable for those aged 16 or 17 after March 2001. [Filtered]
