General description

This dataset gives details on sea passenger traffic between Wales and the Irish Republic, by route, up to the year 2023. Data are presented as the number of passengers (thousands) at ports in Wales.

Data collection and calculation

International ferry passenger statistics are collected monthly from ferry operators by DfT. They include drivers of lorries, coaches and other vehicles but exclude passengers on purely domestic routes.
