General description
The information is based on an annual statistical return

The information is collected in order to capture the number of pre-birth child protection conferences convened during the year.

Where there are concerns that an unborn child may be at future risk of significant harm, local authority children’s social services may decide to convene a child protection conference prior to the child’s birth.


Data collection and calculation
The data were supplied to the Data Collection team within the Welsh Government by local authorities in Wales. The form applies an extensive series of validation checks to ensure that the information provided is accurate and consistent.
