They have not been subject to the same validation processes undertaken for official statistics releases. The official statistics should continue to be considered the authoritative source of data.

Figures show the number of emergency ambulance calls made in Wales by date. The data are taken from management information and are subject to change. They have not been subject to the same validation processes undertaken for official statistics releases. The official statistics should continue to be considered the authoritative source of data.

Data collection and calculation

Weekly return from Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust. Data is submitted via an EXCEL file and transferred to a SQL database.

February 2020 onwards

Revisions information

Figures are subject to change as incident records can be updated up to 5 days after closing, as there is a 5 day period for amendments prior to an incident record becoming "locked". In exceptional circumstances incidents can also be amended more than 5 days after the start of lockdown in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Statistical quality

Figures exclude incidents in England that were attended by WAST resources.
