General description

The information presented here shows the number of fully qualified GPs and wider practice staff (full-time equivalent) per 100,000 of the practice population by local health board at every quarterly snapshot date since 31 December 2021.

Data collection and calculation

The number is calculated by dividing the number of full-time equivalent staff by the number of patients registered to practices in Wales.
The practice population data that most closely aligns with the reference period of the workforce data is used (the April practice population data is used with the March workforce data; July practice population data is used with the June workforce data; October practice population data is used with the September workforce data and the January practice population data is used with the December workforce data).
