Data Provider: Welsh Government National Statistics Examination achievements in core subjects of pupils in year 11/aged 15 by area (legacy data)

This cube covers data published in the Welsh Government's annual "Examination Results" release. The annual release shows this data at Wales level, in this table, the figures are shown for regional consortia and local authorities. From 2018/19 the Welsh government has introduced a new set of performance measures that includes the Literacy point score, the Numeracy point score and the Science point score. For these new measures please see the ‘Key Stage 4 Interim Measures by LEA, from 2018/19’ table.

Data collection and calculation

The figures in this table are based on information collected from awarding organisations for the school performance exercise and have been checked by schools. Further information on the collection and calculation of this data can be found in the notes section of the Examination Results release (See Weblinks)

Data reference periods

The data shown is collected annually after the end of year exams have been completed. The data is shown from 1996 and is updated each year to show the latest academic year's results. Each year refers to the academic year, for example from 1st of September 2014 to the 31st August 2015.
